Removing the radio from a 2011 Smart is not one of the most intuitive or quick tasks to do on your own, but with patience and by following the instructions in this mini guide, you will definitely manage to do it correctly. First, remove the button panel located at the bottom by pulling it off with your hands.

Using a small flat screwdriver, also detach the electronic component located just below. Unscrew the screw with a Torx screwdriver and remove the entire plastic cover.

At this point, unscrew the four screws that hold the radio in place and finally, gently pull the radio towards you to disconnect it from the connector.
