To replace the battery in the Smart 451, access the interior of the cabin and lift the carpet above the footwell on the passenger side. By lifting this carpet, you will locate the battery underneath in its housing: to remove it, unscrew the bolts securing its cross bracket and disconnect the power cables. Once the battery has been freed, insert the new one, connecting it to the respective cables, securing it with the bracket, and repositioning the carpet over it.
