How to Replace the Alternator Bushes on a Smart

Model: Smart Smart 451 - Years 2007-2015
Part: Alternator

If the auxiliary belt shows frayed edges, it means it is oscillating laterally while rotating, which is certainly caused by the alternator's oscillations due to worn support bushes. You can replace these bushes, but it requires quite a bit of work: removing the alternator involves lowering the engine to access the bushes more easily.
Start by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery located under the passenger side mat; lift the vehicle, remove the protective plastics, access the belt, and remove the tensioner to slip off the belt itself; lower the car and open the rear bonnet to access the engine compartment and complete the alternator removal; at this point, remove the bush from the engine mount and then those on the alternator bracket using suitable pullers; then apply the new bushes and reassemble everything with a new auxiliary belt.

Replacing the External Mirror of a Volkswagen Golf

How to replace the external mirror of a Volkswagen Golf? Follow this video to proceed. Using a plastic or rubber lever, pry between the perimeter of the mirror frame and the mirror glass. Pry until the glass detaches from the mirror; this is a delicate operation as the glass or the mirror itself may break. Once the damaged mirror is removed, unscrew the round plastic plate with a screwdriver, and replace it with the new one. Ensure the plastic clips engage in the mirror supports. Use the same procedure to remove the indicator.
