How to Open the Interior Light Unit of a Smart Forfour

Opening the interior light unit of a Smart Forfour is a relatively simple task you can do yourself. You will need a pointed tool.

After removing the light unit to open it and replace the bulb, insert the tool into the right side hole and then into the left one. Next, insert the tool into the upper holes. Once the light unit is open, you can remove and then insert the new bulb.

To close the light unit, simply close it and then mount it back in its housing to test its operation by turning on the interior light. If the fault persists, you may need to replace the fuse.
