To change the motor oil of a SYM JET 170, make sure the scooter is on a flat and stable surface. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to heat up the oil, making it more fluid. Turn off the engine and locate the oil drain plug under the engine. Place a pan under the plug to collect the used oil. Use a wrench to unscrew the drain plug and let the oil drain completely. Once all the oil has drained out, securely screw back the drain plug. Locate the oil fill cap on the side of the engine and remove it. Using a funnel, slowly pour in the new oil, making sure to use the type and quantity recommended in the owner's manual. After adding the oil, replace the fill cap and start the engine for a few minutes to allow the oil to circulate. Turn off the engine and check the oil level with the dipstick, adding more if necessary. Make sure the oil level is correct before closing everything up and completing the process.
