How to Repair the Center Console of a Toyota Yaris Sedan

Model: Toyota Yaris Sedan Xp90 - Years 2005-2013

On the Toyota Yaris Sedan, there is a center console that may not close at all or not close properly. The problem is not caused by the small buttons on the front of the lid, as it may seem at first glance, but rather by the two small spots on the sides of both the compartment and the lid itself. These two spots flatten with use, causing the pressure lid to no longer "catch". The only way to restore the console is to recreate the thickness, using tape that then becomes dull, or with a millimeter spacer, or with two-part glue, allowing it to dry well and then sanding it.
