In this video, we see how to inspect the manifold absolute pressure sensor of a Toyota Yaris Hybrid: to access it, we need to remove the air filter housing, then using an extension, we will remove the two 10mm screws, and underneath, we see the MAP sensor attached to the intake manifold. Now, we go inside the car and press the ignition button twice: with the car not running, the value measured by the sensor is 98 kilopascals, which is a bit low compared to the atmospheric value, which is 101, so the sensor may be out of calibration, but it does not give any error message. We will then try to disconnect the sensor and check the reference wire, which should have about 5 volts. In fact, the measured values on the wires are low, so we remove the sensor, which is covered in oil. We clean it with CRC, and once cleaned, it will react much faster. Testing it a second time in Ohms, the result improves significantly. Before reinstalling it, we check the seal carefully and put it back in place. Now, the voltage is fine. A good cleaning was enough to get it back to normal.
