How to change the battery of a Toyota C-Hr key?

To change the battery of a Toyota C-HR key, start by removing the emergency mechanical key. To do this, press the release button located on the side of the key and pull the mechanical key out of the remote. Once removed, use a small flathead screwdriver or plastic tool to pry open the key shell by leveraging in the slot created by the absence of the mechanical key. Separate the two sides of the shell, locate the battery, usually a CR2032 button battery. Remove it carefully, noting its orientation. Insert the new battery in the same orientation, making sure the positive side (+) is facing upwards. Reassemble the key shell by pressing the two sides together until they securely snap into place. Finally, reinsert the emergency mechanical key. Your key should now work properly with the new battery.
