Let's see how to replace the engine oil filter on a Bonneville motorcycle. Position the motorcycle on a workshop stand, remove the plastic filler cap; using a socket spanner, unscrew the plug that closes the oil sump at the bottom of the motorcycle (drain the fluid into a container). Use a strap wrench to unscrew the oil filter (remove the engine guard). Remove the cartridge oil filter and fit a new one after cleaning (check the seal around the metal cap). Top up with the new oil in the engine and close with the plastic cap.
