In this video we see how the multi-disc clutch of motorcycles works, composed of a series of "driven" discs mounted on a hub; the surface of the discs has a high coefficient of friction (sintered bronze, graphite, etc.). Alternating with these are the "driving" steel fingers. All are fitted into the so-called "bell" and rotate together, pressed by four helical springs and push on a plate which in turn presses on the disc pack. By pushing on the plate and on the helical springs from the opposite side, we will cancel the pressure on the discs through the pushrod, connected to the lever that the motorcyclist uses to disconnect the transmission from the engine. Power is transmitted from the engine to the gearbox only if the discs are engaged.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHow to change the gearbox oil of the Piaggio Vespa Px 125 - Lml Star 125Today we will see, in this short and simple guide, how to replace the transmission oil of the Piaggio Vespa Px 125, but also of the Lml Star 125 2-stroke. First of all we put the central stand and we start to unscrew the oil vent bolt of the transmission, which we find on the right side casing; to do this we use a 10 mm socket wrench, letting the oil drain in a container for about ten minutes. At this point we unscrew the filler screw, in order to let the oil flow more quickly; then we finally top up, following the video to the end! by ScegliAuto More videos
