What are the symptoms that make us realize that our shock absorbers need to be changed? Let's see it in this video. The shock absorber transforms the kinetic energy of the oscillations into thermal energy, which is dissipated in the form of heat; this happens thanks to the passage of a fluid, which can be oil or gas, through internal valves that offer resistance to movement. The YouTuber gives us the example of the car in repair that had one of the shock absorbers empty, so the car was "leaning" to one side, and in fact we see that it is all dirty from the oil it has leaked; or they can be noisy because they have lost some of their compression. Another problem could be the worn rubber bearing. The rear ones are made in a different way, and when they are worn out we hear a loud noise, like a crackling coming from the rear. To replace a shock absorber, a special tool is needed to maintain the compression of the spring and remove the interior, which can be easily replaced.
