Activating and Deactivating the "Out" Mode of the Digital Tachograph

Transport operators often deal with the management of the digital tachograph, especially when the vehicle is in a private area. In such contexts, the provisions of Regulation EC 561/2006 (driving times and mandatory breaks) do not apply. However, this does not mean that the driver is automatically at rest. If the driver is engaged in driving activities in a private area, they are still performing work activities and therefore cannot be considered at rest from a tachographic perspective. Additionally, this activity must be documented to allow checks on compliance with working hours. To properly manage this situation, the OUT mode of the digital tachograph is used. To activate it, proceed as follows: press the OK button, scroll with the arrows to the "VEHICLE ENTRY" option, press OK to confirm, then press OK again to activate the OUT mode. Finally, press the left arrow to exit the menu and give one last OK. At this point, the OUT mode is active. To deactivate it, press OK, scroll down to find "VEHICLE ENTRY", select with OK, press OK again to deactivate the OUT mode, then exit with the left arrow and give the final OK. The OUT mode is now deactivated.
