Let’s see how to clean the engine air filter instead of replacing it: open the air box and remove the filter. If it is only slightly dirty, as shown in the video, you can attempt to clean it with a low-pressure compressor or a can of compressed air. Spray from the inside out (against the normal airflow direction) to dislodge the dust from the folds. Do not use water or other liquid products, as they would irreparably damage the material. Clean the housing before replacing the filter. This operation is only possible if the filter is in good condition, so if it is not greasy, damaged, or stained. It can be done only once to slightly extend the life of a nearly new filter; the next time it must be replaced without fail.
