How to Repair a Punctured Exhaust with Aluminium Tape

This is obviously an emergency repair: you will need exhaust tape, made of fibreglass impregnated with silicone adhesive. Work on a cold exhaust, and using a wire brush, vigorously scrub the area around the hole to remove dirt, grease, and rust. Cut pieces of tape long enough to wrap around the exhaust 2 to 3 times, keeping it taut and overlapping each turn by at least 50% of the tape's width. Apply firm and even pressure, then apply a second layer. Allow to dry for at least 1 to 2 hours, and remember that this is not a permanent fix, but a patch not suitable for holes larger than 2 to 3 cm, heavily corroded exhausts, or for long periods.
