The most common issue when a wing mirror breaks is that the internal support, made of a metal alloy called "zamak", fractures, which is nearly impossible to weld. You need to visit a good electrician who can provide you with hollow pins that fit inside the original pin, allowing you to pass the mirror's cable through. By using two bolts, you can re-tension the spring that operates the mirror. This task requires some manual dexterity, as you will need to remove the cable from the mirror, disconnect it from the electric motor connector, then refit it and reconnect it. Additionally, part of the internal panel of the car door must be removed to disconnect and then reconnect the cables. However, this solution costs just a few pounds, whereas replacing the entire mirror would have been significantly more expensive.
