In this video, we will see how to change the battery and the casing of a key, generally from the VAG group: we will need a crosshead screwdriver to remove the screw holding the cover, in order to change the battery inside, which is a common CR2025 easily found at any supermarket or electronics store; we separate the two halves of the cover with a flathead screwdriver, and we put the key's electronics inside the new cover, also placing the original key in the new casing; particularly delicate is the repositioning of the spring. We close the cover with the battery inside, with its screw, and the operation is complete.
