On the Volkswagen Golf 5, access to the fuse box is achieved by removing the cover at the indicated point; locate position number 13 and the corresponding 10A fuse associated with the diagnostic functions and rain sensor. With the ignition turned off, use the extractor or tweezers to pull out the fuse in line; check the condition of the element, and if the filament is broken, replace it with one of the same amperage (10A). After closing the cover, turn the ignition to ON and check if the serviced functions (diagnostic communication and rain detection) have been restored. If the fuse continues to blow, it is advisable to check the wiring, connectors, and any relay/module connected to the circuit.
