Replacing Courtesy Light in Golf 4/Seat Leon

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Interior dome light bulb

Tools required: flat screwdriver. Use the screwdriver to lever sideways on the left of the interior light; inside, there is a metal clip that needs to be pressed to allow the light to be removed simply by hand. The bulb is a bayonet fitting. Insert the flat screwdriver into the bulb holder and turn it a quarter turn to the left (anti-clockwise). Once the old bulb is removed, insert the new one by turning it a quarter turn to the right (clockwise). Before repositioning everything, check that the light works. If it does not light up, it means the polarity is incorrect (LED bulbs have this characteristic, while traditional incandescent ones do not). Repeat the operation by reversing the insertion direction. Finally, reposition the light, which will click into place, taking care not to pinch the cable.
