Need to remove the switch panel from above the door panel? Here’s how to remove the switch panel on a Golf 5. Pry between the plastics of the internal handle (where the switch panel is located), unscrew the securing screws located under the handle of the door panel (if applicable). Once all the securing screws of the switch panel are removed, pry it out and extract it from the door panel. Disconnect the power connectors with a screwdriver. Replace the damaged switch panel with a new one of the same type and reassemble everything. Test the operation of the switch panel after assembly.
