Replacing the door handle on a Volkswagen Golf VI is a relatively simple procedure that can be done independently. Start by opening the boot by pulling the release lever from inside the vehicle, then unscrew the two locking screws of the tailgate cover using a Torx T20 key. Keep the locking screws in a bag, detach the tailgate cover by gently pulling to avoid damaging the plastic clips.

Disconnect the connector and using a T25 key, unscrew the three screws securing the handle. Insert the new handle and screw in the three screws using the T25 key. Reconnect the connector and reattach the tailgate cover.
