How to Reset the Service Light on a Volkswagen Passat?

After performing an oil change and a complete service on the vehicle, it is necessary to reset the service indicator on the instrument cluster. To do this, access the driver's seat, turn on the ignition (do not start the engine), and locate two buttons on the right and left sides of the instrument cluster just below the rev counter and speedometer. First, press the right button, then rotate the left button clockwise, and finally press the right button again. At this point, the oil change service indicator will have been reset.
