Where to Find the Legal Chassis Number (VIN) of a Volkswagen Caddy

Knowing the location of the legal chassis number (VIN), which is stamped by the manufacturer, is particularly useful for a commercial vehicle, as it is more likely to be subject to checks by the Police and cross-referencing with the registration document. The legal chassis number is not the plate located on the lower edge of the windscreen on the driver's side. That is just a courtesy plate used to move the vehicle until it has a registration plate. The chassis number of the Caddy is located in the boot, on the passenger side, so on the right side of the vehicle, in a small rectangular compartment in the upholstery. Once you remove the cover, you can find the chassis stamped into the supporting body immediately on the right.
