Volkswagen Vento - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Vento MK 1, A3 - Years 1991-1998
Part: Shock absorbers
Operation: Rear shock absorber replacement

The replacement of the rear shock absorber is much easier to carry out than the front one since even if the shock absorber and spring are coaxial and it is not necessary to have the appropriate clamps as the spring is not preloaded; then lift the car on the bridge, remove the rear wheel and the fixing pin of the shock absorber to the relative support of the rear axle; lower the car and access the rear part of the passenger compartment to remove the fixing nut of the shock absorber support and then be able to extract it; at this point remove the fixing nut of the upper plate and remove it in order to remove the support rubber, the spring and the bellows; prepare the new shock absorber by extracting the stem, insert the spring, the bellows and the limit switch spacer and then reassemble the upper plate; then proceed backwards to assemble on the car.

How do you adjust the clutch cable on the Kia Picanto?

To be able to adjust the clutch cable of the Kia Picanto you need to open the hood so that you have access to the components inside the engine compartment: in order to reach the cable you will need to remove some components on the right side, such as the battery and the air filter. Below them you will find the clutch cable, which will have to be adjusted by screwing or loosening the bolt placed at the end of the cable. This will make the pedal harder or softer; after the adjustment, it will be possible to assemble all the components by closing the hood.
