How to Reset the Service Light on a VW Passat

If the SERVICE warning light illuminates on the instrument panel display, it means it's time for maintenance, specifically the maintenance scheduled at the mileage reached. Once the regular maintenance has been performed, which will include at least an oil change and the corresponding filter, the reset of the light is done manually using the button located at the bottom right of the instrument panel, which features the symbol of a spanner. With the doors closed and the ignition off, press and hold the button, turn on the ignition, release the button, and within 20 seconds press it again to confirm the reset.
