Use a removal tool to lift the lower part of the gaiter, being careful not to damage the plastic clips. Continue pulling the gaiter to expose the metal clip that needs to be loosened with pliers.

Remove the gaiter and gear knob. Insert the new gaiter and then the gear knob, ensuring the fabric fits into the square plastic section, and reassemble everything.
