In order to remove the rear tailgate panel of the Volkswagen Golf, you need to open the tailgate so that you can locate the elements that fix the tailgate: at the bottom you will find the screws that fix the panel, which need to be loosened in order to detach the bottom part of the panel itself. Once this has been detached, you can remove the trims on the sides of the rear window and at the top; in this way, you can insert the new panel, securing it with screws at the bottom.
