In this video, see how to remove the seatbelts with the retractor on a Volvo V40. Gather various levers, screwdrivers, and fixed or socket wrenches. Disconnect the power connectors, then use a lever to remove the plastic covers from the upper and lower side trim where the seatbelt retractor is located. Next, open the plastic cap on the front seat. Unscrew the fastening bolts in the frame (where the seatbelt is positioned) with a socket wrench, and remove the seatbelt retractor. Finally, install the new seatbelt retractor with the respective mounting parts.
