To change the engine oil on a Yamaha FJR 1300, start by placing the bike in a stable position, ideally on a centre stand, to ensure balance during the operation. Start the engine for a few minutes, just long enough to slightly warm the oil, which will help with complete drainage.

Turn off the engine and locate the oil drain plug situated under the engine. Place a container under the plug to collect the used oil. Carefully unscrew the plug, allowing the oil to drain completely.

After a few minutes, once the oil has stopped dripping, refit the drain plug, ensuring it is tightly secured to prevent leaks. Now, find the oil filler cap, usually located on the side of the engine, and gradually pour in the new oil, checking the level with the dipstick.

When you reach the optimal level, close the cap and restart the engine for a few moments to allow the oil to circulate evenly through the system, then check the level again and add oil if necessary.
