The air filter on a Yamaha T-Max Mk1 is located at the front, so to replace it, you will need to remove the front fairing above the two headlights and the windscreen. First, remove the two mirrors by unscrewing the two hidden screws beneath the seals at the bottom of the mirror. After removing the mirrors, unscrew two more screws located at the upper ends of the front fairing that secure it to the inner shield. Once the screws are removed, you can lift the fairing from the top and wiggle it to detach the clips. After removing the fairing, you will see five screws securing the windscreen to the scooter, which must be unscrewed to remove it. Removing the windscreen will give access to the airbox cover, which is secured with four screws; these must be unscrewed to access the air filter, which can then be replaced with a new one. Finally, reassemble everything in the reverse order of disassembly.

How to Check the Coolant Level in a Yamaha Xmax

Next, lift the cover located at the top of the motorcycle to access the coolant drain bolt.
