To replace the battery in a Yamaha R1, loosen the screws located at the rear of the seat so that it can be completely removed. This will provide access to the components underneath: the battery will be positioned here and must be disconnected from its power cables and freed from the securing screws. Once the old battery is removed, insert the new one, connect it to its cables, and secure it in its housing with the bolts, then reattach the seat.
