Unfortunately, many variators have this defect: the plate has loops that are too narrow and not deep enough, so it does not slide and gets stuck during gear changes, especially when it is new (then - as commonly said - it "loosens up", but it takes several kilometers for this to happen). The suggestion given by the YouTuber is therefore to widen the loops with a file and make them slightly deeper, using a square-section file. Of course, we try to do a precise job on all the loops, so that they are equal to each other. A check among user forums has confirmed their suffering from this defect.

How to change the engine oil of Derbi Fds

Let's find out below the instructions on how to carry out the routine maintenance service, replacing the engine oil and the oil filter, of the Derbi Fds. First of all, we put the stand on our bike and start to drain the engine oil, unscrewing the vent bolt that we find under the engine; let the old oil drain in a container for about ten minutes. At this point we unscrew the filler cap and carry out the new top up; we use the oil with the right characteristics, finally checking the oil level using the dipstick!
