Unfortunately, many variators have this defect: the sliding plate has loops that are too tight and not deep enough, causing it not to slide, and during the "shift", it jerks and jams, especially when new (then - as is commonly said - it "loosens", but it takes several miles for this to happen).

The suggestion from the YouTuber is to widen the loops with a file and make them a bit deeper using a square file.

Naturally, aim to work precisely on all the loops so that they are uniform. A check among user forums has confirmed their frustration with this defect.
