How to Remove the Engine Air Filter on an Audi A3

Learn how to remove and replace the engine air filter fitted on an Audi A3. Open the car door, pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, and lift the front bonnet, securing it with the prop rod. Remove the engine air intake hose, then open the air box (unscrew the securing screws), remove the cover of the filter box, and extract the worn air filter. Insert a new filter into the dedicated housing (ensuring it fits snugly around the edges). Finally, refit the air box cover and tighten the screws. Close the front bonnet after maintenance.

Lift the bonnet; remove the soundproofing panel from the engine and locate the diesel filter (as shown in the video). Using a socket wrench, unscrew the bolts (a spanner can also be used) near the container where the diesel filter is located. Once the filter is removed, disconnect the circulation hoses and take it out of the vehicle (replace it with a new filter). Finally, refit the filter to the attached container of the diesel filter (connect the hoses and wires) and tighten the appropriate bolts. Close the bonnet afterwards.
