Reason for the air conditioner not working on an Audi A3/S3 8P.

Model: Audi A3 8P, MK 2 - Years 2003-2013
Part: Air conditioner

The problem presented is a common issue with the air conditioning system of the Audi A3/S3 8P, but it is specific to the 1.6 or 2.0 TSI engine. The sensor may be positioned differently on a 1.9 TDI. When unscrewing the sensor, some refrigerant gas should escape, and after replacement, the system needs to be recharged with the correct amount of oil and refrigerant gas. Therefore, if our system is empty, simply replacing the sensor will not solve the problem. Using an OBD2 reader, we look for error code 00819, and in this case, it will be necessary to purchase the correct replacement part, which is Audi part number 8E0 959 126. The system must be evacuated, and it is advisable to have this done by a professional, as the fluid should not be released into the environment. We replace the sensor following the instructions in the video (disconnecting the battery before unplugging the sensor's electrical connector). After that, the system must be purged of air, the vacuum tightness must be checked, and then it should be recharged with the exact amount of R134A gas (approximately 525 grams (+/- 25 grams) and PAG oil).
