How to Replace the Key Battery in Your Audi A3

Model: Audi A3 MK 2, 8P - Years 2003-2013

Start by pressing the silver button on the top of your Audi A3 key to extract the physical key from the electronic key. Using a small flathead screwdriver, pry off the rear cover of the key. This will expose the depleted key battery. At this point, you can remove it by simply dislodging it, completing the disassembly. To install the new battery and close the key, simply reverse these instructions, and you will have finished the replacement.
