Engine Valve Replacement

Model: Audi A4 B6 - Years 2000-2004
Part: Valve

The operation shown in the following guide is a bit complicated because it involves disassembling the timing chain and restarting the engine. This is why many people rely on mechanics to perform it, but it is not impossible to do it yourself. It is advisable to wear latex gloves while working. Begin by loosening the bolts that hold the castle in place and remove it. Next, remove the shafts and the head bolts. Only at this point can you proceed to remove the cylinder head. Using a valve spring compressor, compress the valve springs to hold the valves down, allowing you to remove the half-moon pins that secure the retainers and extract the valve and spring. Remove the worn valve seals and replace them with new ones.
