How to replace the key battery in the Audi A3

If the smart key of your Audi A3 third series (year 2012-2019) has suddenly stopped working and you want to replace the battery inside, just apply the following procedure. First, take the key and hold down the button located on the upper part of the back cover so as to be able to remove the physical emergency key. Once this is done, remove the back cover and locate the button cell battery. Finally, also remove the latter and replace it with a new one that is perfectly compatible. Put the cover back on and you're done.

Locate the inspection cap (if present) on the headlight and remove it (located at the rear of the headlight).
