To code the daytime running lights on the Audi A4, you will need your VAG cable and a laptop. Connect the cable to the OBD port, which is near the pedal area on the Audi A4. Connect the USB to the laptop and look for the VCDS program icon, which allows you to operate on the vehicle's control unit. First, turn on the ignition. Select your vehicle model from the dropdown menu. The program will start scanning the control units to find any faults or errors. It will then offer to clear them. At this point, you can enter the control unit you want. Go to control unit 09 - electrical control unit - then go to long coding, byte 3: select daytime running light. This way, the system will show "daytime running light on" and the daytime running light will be activated when the vehicle is started, but you will have the option to turn it off from the ignition.
