Rear Shock Absorber Mount Replacement

Model: Audi A4 B6 - Years 2000-2004

If you hear a squeaking noise from the rear wheels while driving on rough terrain, it is likely that the rear shock absorber mount has failed. Replacing it is straightforward since the disassembly is done entirely from the outside without accessing the trunk. Lift the vehicle on a lift and remove the rear wheel. Place a jack under the suspension control arm to support it while removing the shock absorber. Then, unscrew the bolt that secures the shock absorber to the suspension, remove the wheel well liner, and take off the two mounting bolts for the upper mount. Secure the shock absorber shaft and unscrew the mounting nut to remove the damaged mount and install the new one by reversing the steps.
