In this guide, learn how to remove the inner door panel of an Audi A3 MK4. There are three pairs of screws in the panel, with two pairs hidden under the plastic cover (which can be tricky to remove). To remove the diagonal panel near the handle, there are two clips on the outer side, two on the inner side, and one at the bottom.

Fortunately, the material is quite durable. Above and below the handle, there are two more screws.

Use a plastic tool to pry at the edges of the trim to start removing it, then push upwards and check inside to disconnect the electrical connectors. Handle everything gently, even though the plastics are very sturdy.

To remove the third brake light, simply lift the headlining trim and pull out the third brake light, disconnecting the electrical connector.
