On the Audi A4, the trunk may get stuck due to a malfunction of the control button or the lock actuator. In these cases, you can still open the trunk by following the simple procedure shown in this tutorial.

First, open the rear doors, then lower the seat backs by operating the respective lever. Next, go inside the trunk, remove the indicated plastic cover, and using a flathead screwdriver, manually unlock the latch.

At this point, the trunk will be free to open and can be repaired if necessary.
