Before performing the oil change, always warm up the engine for a few minutes to make the circulating oil warmer and less viscous, aiding its subsequent drainage. Remove the lower engine guard by unscrewing its fixing screws. To further assist the oil drainage, first unscrew the upper cap of the engine compartment and then unscrew the bolt that seals the drain hole, allowing air circulation and preventing a vacuum. Collect the used oil in a container and refill with the same quantity. For this motorcycle model, it is recommended to use 10W-40 or 10W-50 oil.
