Replacing the key fob battery on a BMW GS is really very simple. To do this, press the button to release the key, then remove the cover of the fob by pulling it off by hand (if you find it difficult, use a small flat screwdriver to assist). The battery in question is a CR2032, which you can easily find in any hardware store or large supermarket. Extract it (again, if necessary, use the aforementioned screwdriver) and insert the new one you purchased. Close the fob by refitting the cover and voilà! Done!
