Start by placing your BMW R1200 GS on a motorcycle stand. Next, start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to help the oil drain out. Once you have turned off the engine, unscrew and remove the lower oil drain bolt to allow the engine oil to flow out. When all the oil has drained, re-tighten the drain bolt. At this point, unscrew and remove the top-up cap, then add the new engine oil. Once you have completed this step, re-tighten the top-up cap, and you will have finished the oil change.
