How to replace the engine oil in the BMW R1200 GS?

In this tutorial, we can see how to replace the engine oil in the BMW R1200 GS, an extremely simple and quick operation to be performed every 12 months. First of all, we wait for the engine to be sufficiently cold, then we position a container underneath it and remove the lower protective cover. Next, we unscrew the drainage hole bolt with a 10mm hex key, let the oil contained in the system drain out, and using pliers, we unscrew the old filter. At this point, we can insert the replacement, tighten the bolt, and pour the new oil through the appropriate hole.

In order to reset the Aprilia Shiver Service warning light, the instrument panel must be turned on, so that the menu can be accessed: by moving the controls to the right of the steering wheel, it will be possible to select the "Diagnostics" item. Then you will have to enter the code 12390 to access the Diagnostics menu: at this point, by selecting "Coupons reset" a confirmation screen will appear.
