How to change the oil and engine oil filter of the BMW R1200R

The guide shows how to change the BMW R1200R engine oil. The first operation to perform is to turn on the motorbike engine for a few minutes to allow the oil to become more fluid. By locking the bike on a stand it is possible to remove the lower protective grip with a Torx25. With a Torx55 it is possible to unscrew the drain plug of the engine oil tank; in this operation, use a container to properly dispose of the used oil. At this point, with a filter cup wrench, it is possible to unscrew the oil filter; clean the seat of the filter and lubricate the gasket of the new piece to make it enter into position. Clean the tank drain plug and any leaks and refit the valve. From the tool kit under the saddle, take the screwdriver handle; it will allow the opening of the filler cap of the oil tank. On the right side of the bike, open the cap with the tool you just picked up; fill the tank with new oil and plug the tank. Refit the grip. Start the engine for a few minutes to let the oil circulate and check the quantity again; top up if necessary. The operation is finished.
