Before proceeding with the replacement of the heated grips on the BMW M 1000 RR (the procedure also applies to other BMW models), ensure your bike is stable and secure on a stand to protect the operator's safety. This precaution should be taken whenever performing maintenance on a motorcycle. Now, using the appropriate spanner, loosen the bolt that secures the grip in position. With a utility knife, cut the grip longitudinally. Remove the old grip. At this point, clean its seating and the inside of the new grip with alcohol and insert the new grip into the seating. Use glue to secure both ends, and finally, refit the locking element.
