This guide explains how to change the engine oil and oil filter, performing the regular maintenance service on the BMW R1250 GS. First, place the bike on its centre stand and start by unscrewing the drain bolt located under the engine, allowing the old oil to drain into a container for about ten minutes. Next, unscrew the oil filter cartridge using the appropriate tool, and replace it with a new one; then pour the new oil into the fill hole, filling to the correct level.
