To replace the battery on the BMW R1200GS, first remove the plastic cover of the frame, which is held in place by three elastics. Once this is done, you can access the flap that protects the battery compartment. After unscrewing the only screw present, gently pull to remove it from the clips. Also, remove the second cover, which is also clipped in, and extract the battery. Disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal. Now that you have removed the old battery, simply follow the reverse procedure to install the new one.
