To replace the alternator belt on a BMW GS 1200, you need to loosen the screws that secure the cover at the front of the bike, just behind the front fork. Once this cover has been removed, you will be able to access the components underneath by unscrewing the central pin of the alternator pulley. This will allow you to remove the pulley and slide off the belt, as it will have been loosened. Then, you can fit the new belt, reassemble the pulley, and cover everything with the cover.
