If your BMW R1200GS key has suddenly stopped working, it is likely time to replace the battery inside the cover. Below are the steps to follow.

First, obtain a new compatible battery (CR2032). Then, press the button located on the back of the cover to release the emergency key. Remove the back cover and proceed to replace the old battery with the new one. Finally, correctly reassemble the back cover and you're finished.
